This is without doubt the best holiday rental we have ever stayed at in Normandy and we have been visiting this part of Normandy for over ten years. The house was spotlessly clean, every possible thing we might have needed was catered for, right down to the ice dispenser in the kitchen. We were two couples staying in the house and each room had its own en-suite facilities which was extremely important to us, the bed was the most comfortable and enormous bed I have ever slept in, the bathroom was huge, well lit and lots of storage space and a good heater. The kitchen had every amenity we would have wanted including an Aga which was just perfect to come home to in the chilly evenings and cozy up in the kitchen, the utility room was a great asset including a washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave oven. The kitchen lead straight out into the most charming garden which also had a BBQ and table and chairs. The lounge was lovely with a big log burner which we only needed to use once on a particularly chilly evening and there were plenty of logs provided so we didn't have to go foraging for logs! The village itself is well provided for in terms of bakeries, butchers and next door there was a pop up moules and oyster bar which my husband thought was done especially for him! There's a choice of two very good restaurants literally less than one minute walk from the house and both are very good. Tansy and Mike Forster were the perfect hosts they anticipated the time of our arrival from the ferry to the house and took plenty of time to explain where everything was in the house, they checked in with us now and then to make sure everything was OK, the perfect balance without being intrusive. Tansy and Mike also made parking provision for our 1943 Jeep with their neighbours which helped us massively and helped us relax instantly. I can't recommend this property enough, so much so that we have already booked to the same week for the next three years, I just would not want to stay anywhere else now, this was beyond five star.

This is one of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed at. We have known Tansy and Mike for several years, and it always amazes us how they go above and beyond to ensure your comfort and tranquility of stay. The Band of Brothers house has been exquisitely renovated and is strategically located in Sainte Marie du Mont, by the church. We were there during the 73rd anniversary and the town was buzzing with activity. Make it a point to reserve this house - you will have no regrets.

Thank you very much to Tansy for making our Normandy visit a wonderful experience, starting with the booking process and continuing with her advice for exploring the area. She was welcoming and helpful upon arrival. There were no issues during our stay but we knew she would be there if needed. The house is charming, comfortable and well equipped. The backyard was lovely for a glass of wine in the later day while recounting our day's events. The house is steeped in history, as well as the village. Two restaurants and an oyster shop are just next door and two bakeries and a butcher shop ensured we did not go hungry. The house is well positioned to explore northwestern Normandy. We highly recommend this house and would stay there again.Thank you Tansy.

Everything about this property is fantastic. Tansy and Mike are wonderful people. I dealt with Tansy while making the booking and e-mailed with her as we got closer to our stay to iron out details. She was very prompt and polite when getting back to me. They also allow dogs which appealed to us and there are plenty of places to walk your pup.
We stayed over the Christmas week and it was great to walk in and see a Christmas tree and all the decorations and a fire in the fireplace. Mike and Tansy met us at the property the day we got there to show us around. We were left maps and a sightseeing guide Tansy did. The house sits right between a fresh seafood place and a restaurant. The restaurant was closed for the season but that was fine with us. There is a butcher down the road (it takes about 1 minute to walk there) and we got something from him. Delicious! There is also a grocery store within a 10-15 minute drive. The kitchen has everything you need to cook with; pots, pans, utensils, large American refrigerator, etc. There is also wood out back for you to keep the fire going. We weren't really able to use the garden but it was beautiful to look at everyday.
Our visit was mainly to see the beaches of D-Day and St. Mont Michel. It was a 10 minute drive to Utah Beach and about a 30 minute drive to Omaha Beach and about an hour and 15 minutes to St. Mont Michel. (Just as an FYI, at St. Mont Michel, our credit card didn't work to pay for parking. However, if you use the pay stations behind the visitor center, there are two stations that take euro. The ones by the parking lots only take credit cards.)
I cannot say enough good things about this house, Mike and Tansy and the village. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to make their way out to the beaches or just for a good getaway. If we ever make our way out that way again, I would definitely book this property again, if only to sleep in that comfortable king sized bed!
Thank you again Mike and Tansy!

Truly a gem. The house is cozy, well-equipped with all modern conveniences. Immaculate. The king bed, a rarity in France, is extremely comfortable. Everything is done with thoughts of creating a lovely stay, including the bathrobes and oversized towels. Great shower. The kitchen is remarkably well equipped. The location of the house is perfect-in a very quiet village near Utah Beach and a short drive from everywhere. There is a charcuterie about 100 yards away where one can buy wonderful take-away. Tansy, the owner, was available whenever we needed her and went the extra mile with helping us plan our sight-seeing, dining, etc. We loved our stay, were sorry to go!

I just returned home from spending 8 days at the Band of Brothers House in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont during our Normandy vacation with my wife and friend. The property was all that was promised and as advertised, recently clean, the kitchen appliances new, and the whole house renovated. Tansy provided all the help we could ask for regarding local sights, information, tips and things to do. She gave us arrival information, made the booking process very easy, and provided lots of information regarding local sights that were better than other information we had obtained. Her local map of the area was excellent and we didn't need to use any other for all our driving in the area. The home was perfect from the downstairs rooms and kitchen to the bedrooms and redone full bathroom upstairs. Our only problem was that the weather was still a little chilly and we couldn't spend as much time in the beautiful back garden as we wanted. The location in the village allowed us to get a sense of life in France. The bakery around the corner provided us with its local fare fresh every morning, the restaurants next door for crepes every evening, and the butcher across the way (Not to mention the fresh shellfish next door). The village itself was charming and allowed us to get a real idea about the activity during the D Day operation. The village was well located for our day trips across all of Normandy, from Saint-Mere-Eglise, Mont-Ste-Michael, Honfluer, Liverot, and Bayeux to Balfleur and Cherburg. We would recommend this property for anyone wanting to spend some time in Normandy and experience a wonderful time.

“So much to say where do I start” Well we have returned to Essex with memories of Normandy still fresh in our minds. We spent the most relaxing 10 days in a small village in Normandy and it took us back in time to village life. The church bells rang and we spent our time exploring and enjoying the house and surrounding area. We never booked the Band of Brothers house because of its history and connection to World War II and the D-Day landings. We booked a beautiful two bedroomed house set in a French village on the Normandy coast. It was that and so much more! The house itself has everything you could ask for with an enclosed walled garden; perfect for our dog Parker. The house has history of its own and has been brought into the 21st Century by Mike and Tansy. Tastefully renovated it has all the conveniences of home. Modern American fridge, lovely bathroom with powerful shower, utility room, whilst still having the charm of a French house. Beautiful master bedroom which is sunny and light – windows which open inwards (why don’t we have them in England?) I could have sat and watched village life from there forever. Our shopping needs were mainly met by Willy Senoville the local butcher, his shop I felt was like the heart of the village, meeting everyone’s needs meat, wine, cheese and French conversation. Not forgetting the boulangerie with bread and croissants to die for. We spent many evenings having barbecues cooked to perfection and timed by the church clock. We enjoyed all the local markets shopping for fresh produce and I loved all my antique bargains – negotiating in pigeon French - five euros no more! Seafood is plentiful with mussels and oysters on the doorstep literally. The house is ideally placed if you enjoy history especially if you have forces connections. The beaches are beautiful long and sandy, hard to imagine what went on there and in reflection very sad. Would we return - in a heartbeat – would we move in – of course! My dream house in France and all renovated. We felt so welcomed and at home there. Thank you so much Mike and Tansy for sharing all of this with us. Louise, Kevin and Parker.
